Senior Art Director | NY
Ryan Cassidy is a Senior Art Director at Fenton New York. Drawing on over a dozen years of industry experience, Ryan sees every new project as an opportunity to raise the bar. He strives to bring a sense of simplicity, clarity and authenticity to every project by looking for inspiration inside the world around him.
At Fenton, Ryan has taken the lead on websites for The Joyce Foundation, who promote social and economic change; Aga Khan USA, a global foundation committed to breaking the cycle of poverty; Futures Without Violence, working to end violence against women and children; and rebranding Manomet, a conservation non-profit.
Ryan grew up in central Massachusetts and graduated college with a fine arts degree. He quickly got to work as a graphic designer, creating award-winning menus for a national restaurant chain, book design, packaging for Gillette, logos and websites. Ryan has worked on international campaigns for Jim Beam, Pampers, and Sabra Hummus.
In 2008, Ryan expanded his skill set by focusing on interactive and digital design projects in a freelance capacity. Inspired by the freedom of freelance and rejuvenated by facing new challenges, Ryan decided to take it a step further by selling all his things – keeping his laptop – and moved to Buenos Aires. There, he learned Spanish, traveled, and worked on art. He taught English to local middle school children and volunteered by working with the African immigrant community. After three years in South America, he moved to New York with a renewed passion for culture and the arts with enthusiasm to work with the nonprofit sector.
Creating memorable brands is the product of hard thinking, collaboration and the odd genius moment. In between these moments, Ryan can be found baking bundt cakes in his Brooklyn loft among his collection of fashionable eyewear. Ryan believes in working hard, sitting up straight, leaving on time and embracing the unexpected.
