Mala Persaud is a Vice President in Fenton’s Washington, D.C. office, bringing more than two decades of broadcast journalism and communications consulting experience. She leads a diverse portfolio of Fenton’s domestic and international clients, including Johnson & Johnson, the National Indian Education Association, the National Honor Society Scholarship Fund and Seed Global Health. Over her communications career, her approach to storytelling, media relations experience and writing skill has resulted in hundreds of top-tier media placements in more than 30 countries around the world.
Prior to becoming a communications strategist, Mala was a broadcast journalist. After a few years in New York with PBS and NBC News, Mala moved to London, where she served as a Field Producer for Dateline NBC. For more than ten years, she covered breaking and feature news stories, including Princess Diana’s funeral, the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, the 7/7 bombings in London in 2005 and much more in between. She’s the proud owner of an Emmy, a Murrow Award for a feature on enhanced security at European airports and George K. Polk Award for an investigation into contact lens pricing in America. Mala lives in the Washington, D.C. suburbs with her teenage sons and is a dedicated community volunteer.
