CSR Update – Sep 13, 2010

Another great week of exciting and interesting initiatives were shared last week including a study showcasing that “More Wall Street Analysts are “buying” into Corporate Social Responsibility” and a provocative article in Fast Company by @annmcharles stating that if women were to rule the “C-suite” CSR would be the norm!  Additionally, a notable study was released demonstrating that the “EcoAware Mom” market (Who knew?) which is essentially huge, has more than $1.45 trillion in buying power.

A big kudos goes to billionaire George Soros and the Open Society Foundation for the unbelievably generous gift of $100-million to Human Rights Watch.  What day that must have been at the HRW offices worldwide.

Our key focus this week, however, was planning Fenton’s upcoming “CSR and It’s Role in Business Today” featuring a stellar list of panelists from business, nonprofit, philanthropy, academia and media.  We are pleased to be facilitating an open dialog following the publication of Dr. Aneel Karnani’s Wall Street Journal article entitled “The Demise of Corporate Social Responsibility”.  If you’ve not registered, please do so for the September 17th live video webcast.  We’re thrilled to have support from BSR, the Paley Center and CSRwire and thank them for their generosity and participation.

Since the event will be interactive, we encourage you to email us with the questions you would like to see addressed by the panel.  You may email us at CSR@fenton.com.
