Erin B. Hart
Senior Vice President
Erin Hart has worked in issue-based communications for nonprofit, corporate and government organizations for more than 15 years. At Fenton she provides brand development, training, media relations and coalition-building counsel, specializing in public health, education and youth issues for clients including Envision Schools and the Campaign for College Opportunity.
Prior to joining Fenton, Hart worked with clients such as the American Legacy Foundation and various health departments and environmental nonprofits. For Legacy, Hart conducted crisis planning for Truth, the youth-smoking prevention campaign. She also created and led the foundation's brand planning and handled the coordination of daily media relations, resulting in news coverage on CNN and in The New York Times, among other outlets. Her training, media relations and youth movement work in Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania and other states has resulted in decreases in youth smoking and sales of tobacco to minors.
In addition to her work on health care issues, Hart served as environmental education director for Florida's Department of Environmental Protection. She made Floridians aware of water-quality problems by creating large-scale, interactive exhibits that reached the general public; she also developed innovative tools for classroom use. Her work in Northeast Florida focused public attention on the quality and habitats of the St. Johns River and played a role in its American Heritage River designation. Her crisis-related work includes experience with drinking water, an oil spill, large-scale fish kills, high-profile crimes and other issue areas.
